Well worth the wait! That first pan (again!) is a charmer, followed by a bang on taxi (we all know the pitfalls here!) and then a monkey in a hat!! What more could we ask?!
Spot on, Paul. It's from Out Of The Past (aka Build My Gallows High in the UK) and was used by Lee Server as the title of his fantastic Mitchum biography.
I was worried about adding a chimp to Noir but my thinking is that a lady cab driver is probably a rarity, in those days anyway, and a little bit of protection doesn't hurt. Howie may look cute but chimps are dangeroulsy strong, I'm hoping for some chimp on goon violence at some point. They also attack midgets more readily than regular size people, according to Penn Jillette. Something to do with them being smaller than the chimp.
Ta Dave, it's confident car work from a photo! The main pic of the car and the street scene were me trying to use photos and to draw over them without making them too traced or stiff. Still working that one out.
2 brilliant pages, Faz. Given the story another shake. So this is Sleepy's sister right? The one he was going off to meet before Lothar dragged him off for interrogation?
She drives a cab with a chimp... Ha!
The black and white on page 25 is so well balanced btw.
1. A contributor must acknowledge their turn with a comment on the last submission after which they have 3 days to submit their turn. 2. Scene changes may only occur in plate one of each page. A contributor may take this opportunity to start a new chapter. A new chapter may start no less than 8 pages after the last chapter. A chapter title card must take up one entire plate. 3. A contributor cannot follow directly after their last turn and can only Huzzah once per page. 4. If after 24 hrs no contributor has acknowledged their turn then rule 3 is suspended for that round and any contributor may claim the next plate. 5. Contributors must adhere to the rules of the setting.

Two new characters with a lotta promise too. Worth the wait, Faz.

Lovely stuff, Faz. That's some confident car work you've got going on there. And that first panel is just wonderful.

"OOK!" ... :D
An absolute joy man - ditto Dave's comments, thanks for such an ace chapter opener.
